FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How many patrons per program?

Up to 15 patrons per program.

Is there a minimum number of patrons?

This varies by program, and by space, but generally the minimum is 5 patrons, unless otherwise discussed with the library.

Can I request a program as a kit instead?

Most of our programs are available to be converted into a Grab ‘N Go style kit. Shipping/Drop-off fee may apply.

How is mileage calculated?

Mileage charge is based on most recent NYS Standard. Based off distance from East Islip, NY. Not applicable on every booking.

Do you offer programs for parents / caregivers?

We do! If you have a specific topic in mind (ie Social Media, Google Suite, Keeping kids safe online) we’re more than happy to work with you/your staff. Amanda in particular has led multiple trainings of this style for tweens, teens, and/or their parents.

Do you offer bilingual classes?

Not at this time, but we’re hoping one day!

Do you offer food programs?

Unfortunately, not at this time, but we’re looking to add them in the future!

Are there programs strictly for kids / tweens / teens?

While our programs are designed with certain age groups in mind, if you’d like to talk to us about adapting a program for another audience (including adults), please let us know!

Can I request a custom program?

Have an event coming up? A library mascot you want to honor? Contact us! We’d love to work with you!

What is the cancelation policy?

In the event of low registration, either the Library or the contractor may cancel up to 24 hours prior without charge. Less than 24 hour notice may incur a 50% fee. In the event of a weather-related or medical emergency, the contractor reserves the right to cancel / reschedule the program without penalty.

Will I know who my instructor is prior to the event?

Yes. Once the contract goes out, and the event is confirmed, we will let you know who to expect. Should there be a swap (due to illness, emergencies, etc), we will let you know ASAP.

Can you accommodate neurodivergent populations, disabled populations, and/or adjust programs to be “Sensory friendly”?

We are more than happy to work with libraries to see if we can make accommodations for everyone/anyone who wishes to attend! Whether its offering a spatula instead of using their hands, pre-cutting out a craft, or assisting a patron from start to finish, we want to make sure everyone has a great time and feels included.

When do you offer in-person classes?

September – June: Weekday Evenings & Weekends
July & Aug: Weekdays & Weekends

Have a date in mind? Reach out and let us know! As a reminder, almost all of our classes can be switched to virtual, pre-recorded, or Craft Kits.
